The model was arranged by an orthopaedic surgeon on behalf of a patient to assist with surgical planning.

The shoulder scan was performed on the Force CT at our SAHMRI clinic, however a model could be created from any CT or MRI scanner of almost any body part.

Workup was performed on the Vitrea workstation at our St Andrew’s clinic and the data transferred to a 3D printer in Sydney.

The model was printed and delivered 48 hours later. The whole process, from scan to delivery could be achieved in 2 – 3 days.

Feedback from the referrer was very positive and it is expected that this will be the first of many 3D model prints among other innovations and creative service provisions offered by Jones Radiology.
